Why Michelin ⭐️ @spondi_restaurant ruined duck for me.
I had their pigeon course, followed by duck because Jim doesn’t eat fish and the chef kindly accommodated a change to the tasting menu. I’d never had pigeon and duck back-to-back before.
The pigeon was superior.
Many Michelin-starred restaurants, regardless of cuisine, still use French culinary foundations: classic sauces, precise cooking techniques, brigade kitchen systems, and exacting service standards. You can see those influences woven throughout the experience.
Other standout bites:
• Asparagus - may seem simple, but it was perfection!
• Piña Colada “Dippin’ Dots”
And then there was the knife selection. Such a whimsical touch. Mother-of-pearl handles, more medieval-inspired designs, and everything in between. Choosing your knife felt like selecting a character in a game before the next course was served.
My ongoing Michelin-star restaurant dilemma: bread service.
I never have enough room for all the courses, yet the bread and butter courses are consistently some of the best bites of the entire meal. It’s impossible to stop at one piece.

After a look at the tasting menu it didn’t even make us think twice about a la carte.
Acropolis Pro Tips:
•Bring water.
•Wear real shoes.
•Get lost in Plaka on the way down.
The Acropolis is the main event, Ancient Greece gave us democracy, philosophy, and breathtaking views.
But I somehow get lost every time I leave - which always leads me to a new taverna for the perfect jet-lagged snack of traditional Greek appetizers and a slice of portokalopita (Greek orange cake). 🏛️
